Dr. Hirschberg attended Salus University - Pennsylvania College of Optometry with several externships focused on primary care, low vision and post operative care. He did his undergraduate degree at Rutgers University where he majored in Public Health.
Dr. Hirschberg is an active member of the American Academy of Optometry as well as the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians.
He is very passionate and knowledgeable about managing Dry Eye Disease, Cataracts, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy.
When Dr. Hirschberg is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family in Monmouth county. He loves watching Knicks, Jets, Mets, and Rutgers games. He continues to play basketball, weight train and run regularly. Dr. Hirschberg plays bass guitar and enjoys listening to alternative rock music as well.

Manahawkin Vision is pleased to welcome Dr. Lonika Patel to our practice. Dr. Lonika Patel is a board-certified optometric physician. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University and her Doctor of Optometry from Salus University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She furthered her training with a residency in primary eye care and ocular disease at the VA New Jersey Health Care System in East Orange, NJ.
Dr. Patel is an active member of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and the American Optometric Association.
Dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, Dr. Patel emphasizes patient education on vision and eye health. She conducts comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and evaluations for ocular diseases such as dry eyes, diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and eye emergencies. She also has experience in fitting specialty contact lenses, including scleral, RGP, OrthoK, and MiSight lenses, and is experienced in treating binocular diplopia with prism correction.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Patel enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with friends and family, watching movies of all genres, and relaxing at the beach in her free time.
